Un portafedi a dir poco splendido, curato nei minimi particolari e carico di significati.

Adagiato su un letto di petali di rosa bianca, simbolo della sposa, un intreccio di roselline poliandre dà origine ad una rosa.

Il termine poliandro significa fiore dai molti stami, lo stame è l’organo di riproduzione maschile del fiore.
La rosa poliandra accoppia simbolicamente il maschile con il femminile.

Altri stami sono visibilmente rappresentati dagli spilloni che fermano le fedi nuziali, la rosellina al centro è l’ovario del fiore.
Linneo quando classificò le piante utilizzò una metafora per far comprendere meglio il loro sistema di riproduzione distinguendo le “nozze delle piante” in pubbliche o nascoste: nozze pubbliche quando i loro organi sessuali sono visibili ad occhio nudo, nascoste nel caso questi non si vedano.
Con questa simbologia gli sposi manifestano la volontà di dichiarare la loro unione matrimoniale all’intera collettività.

E poi molti stami, molti altri fiori!
